7 April 1875 — Madrid | |
Wednesday. 7th [April 1875]. Went to breakfast with Dss de la Torre. She tells me that the Alfonsist ladies so dislike Henry & me that at the houses of Miraflores & Aleañices they have decided that no one shd visit me & that they should make the place so hateful that we shall ask to leave it. I am very much afraid their plan will not succeed in the end altho’ we long have wished to go. | |
