27 April 1875 — Madrid | |
Tuesday. 27th [April 1875]. Painted. Mr Birch called after having come from the King– Also Monteverde. Went out driving took Emilia & we went to buy what is called a matelassé dress a common summer gown. It is a blue & white check stuff that is used for covering matresses & then we took a turn in the Prado. In the eveng we walked to the Bauers. A good many people & the Valeras were there. | |
