3 May 1875 — Madrid | |
Monday. 3rd [May 1875]. Painted in morning. We drove out at 5 & went to the Retiro & walked in the unfrequented alleys wh are now lovely all the lilacs being in bloom. We met the Canelaux also walking & saw the Infanta walking. We had a good many people in the evening– The Riaños, Hunts, Mme Koudriaffsky, Ayltons &c &c. It was very hot. | |
