25 May 1875 — Madrid | |
Tuesday. 25th May [1875]. Busy all day packing & receiving visits from people who came to bid us good bye. We dined at 6 & went to the Station du Midi & started for Valencia by the 8.40 train—a great many people came to see us off. We took with us Hill, Giovanni & M. Joubert. We had a saloon carriage given us but while chatting with our friends we were nearly left behind & had just time to jump in as the train was moving along. | |
