6 July 1875 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Tuesday. 6th [July 1875]. Finished hanging pictures. Ricardo Madrazo & Gonsalvo called & saw the pictures. At 2 we went & left cards on Pss Dol: & then went on to Helicon– Met there Mme Marcello & Gino & at 3 the Helicon steamed away to join the Fleet wh starts for Trieste this eveng. We got there in an hour. The Marcellos wait to see Devastation. We went to Hercules with Sir J. D., the Marcello joined us there & then the Adl packed us off. We returned in our Italian pinnace towed by a streamer. We left at 5 but did not get home till 8. | |
