19 September 1875 — Angoulême
Sunday. 19th [September 1875]. Went to Bayonne. It was excessively hot & there was a great thunderstorm. Got to Bayonne at abt 8 in eveng. The Riaños met us at station & also Capt Palliser the Capt of the “Lively.” We embarked at once & the Riaños with us. The Capt. had given me his cabin & I was very comfortable. There were only 2 officers left since we last were on board her viz the Dr & the Navigating Lieut.
