13 December 1875 — Madrid | |
Monday. 13th [December 1875]. Wrote in the morning. At 2 went out walking with Henry; we walked to Mme Prim’s & paid her a visit & then walked home & got home before 4. Soon after Mr & Mrs Scarlett came to pay us a farewell visit as they start tomorrow for Alicante to spend the rest of the winter. Mr & Mrs Hamilton called—Mrs H. being once more in her right mind. Then came Mr Partridge whose brother is so ill at the Hotel de Paris. In the eveng we had a few people but the cold must have prevented many people coming. | |
