2 January 1876 — Madrid | |
Sunday. 2nd January [1876]. I went to church at 10.30 after having had a visit from Col Fitch. I found there was no one to play the harmonium so I undertook it. Breakfasted at 12. Arranged letters. At 2 went to the concert of quartetts. Came back to tea & brought Mmes d’Antas & de Poix & Hatzfeldt came. Finished arranging my papers & dressed for dinner. The Walshams, Phipps, M. Nicholas, Beck, Mirecki, Carnide, Wagner, Sartoris dined with us we had a little music in the eveng Beck & Sartoris playing. | |
