14 January 1876 — Madrid | |
Friday. 14th [January 1876]. I began to take the Marienbad waters– Had rather a headache & was on the sofa most of the day. Heard that Mr Schreiber had rushed home to stand for East Suffolk in Ld Mahon’s place. M. Cohen called & said he was going to Lisbon on a holiday. Mariquilla & Emilia called when they were gone I felt very ill & after Greppi had called I gave up the struggle & went to bed abt 6 o’cl: Regular thaw today. | |
