18 January 1876 — Madrid | |
Tuesday. 18th [January 1876]. Left off the waters & am all right. Painted till 3 then went out & brought Henry home from the Fuente. The streets are still in a bad state & there is a great deal of congealed snow wh makes it dangerous footing for the horses. They are breaking up the frozen snow with picks. I went to see Mme Comyn for the 1st time since Mr C’s death. Found her very sad. | |
