8 February 1876 — Madrid | |
Tuesday. 8th [February 1876]. Painted & had a lesson. Went out with Henry & while walking in the Fuente we met the Bauers & took a turn with them. We went at 4 to see at Dr Brehm’s a large silver church cross which is on sale. It is spanish work & date 1550 & very fine. Left a lot of cards & then went to pay the Koudriaffskys a visit as he is so ill he cannot come & see me & then came home. The Riaños called with Mr Gayangos who has just come from England. Then came Clarita. In the eveng we went to the Bauers. | |
