22 March 1876 — Madrid | |
Wednesday. 22nd March [1876]. I had a toothache in the night so I was not awaked & slept till 11.30– I had such a bad cold that I remained in bed all day & only got up to go & dinner at the Hatzfeldts’—a dinner in honor of the Emp of Germany’s birthday. Canovas del Castillo dined there also the Minister of F. Affairs (Calderon Collantes), the d’Antas, Mme Koudriaffsky, Ct Ludolf, M. Ittersum, Ct Berchem, Baron Greindl. | |
