31 March 1876 — Madrid | |
Friday. 31st [March 1876]. I heard that Jacinta had complained that 6rs a day was not eno’ to pay her a day so I went down & got into a rage & refused to have any more to do with her at wh she immediately begged to be allowed to work & when I had the work frame brought up into the back drawing room she came up with it. I & Hill looked out things to send off to Venice. Went to Mirecki’s concert in the eveng. The Infanta was there & a good many people. The Hunts sang & a sextett of Mr Hunts was played. After the concert we went to tea at the d’Antas but stayed only a short time & brought B. Aylton home. | |
