17 May 1876 — Madrid | |
Wednesday. 17th [May 1876]. We went at 2 ocl: to the Palace to take leave of HM & the Infanta. The King only kept us 2 minutes—& then we went to the Pss who kept us chattering for a long time—till she saw Henry making signs at me. The Bauers dined with us also Valera, D. Miguel de los Santos Alvarez, D. Cipriano, Montesino, Ct Chaudordy, Albareda. D. Manuel Silvela dined with us—& we had tea in the eveng to wh came the Walshams, Sr Fiol, Balbi & Carnide. | |
