18 May 1876 — Madrid | |
Thursday. 18th May [1876]. I had such a headache that I was obliged to remain in bed all day till nearly 5 when having to go to the dentist I got up & was just starting when he sent to put me off as he was ill. I therefore went to Mme d’Antas it being her reception day—& left some PPC cards & went to see the Ayltons whom I found at home. When I got home I found Henry suffering a great deal of pain in his stomach so I put him to bed & sent for a Dr. I was afraid he was going to have a return of cholic– Brehm being away Fontaine came & said he hoped to stop the thing at its debut. Abt 11 o’cl: Henry was better & passed a quiet night. | |
