25 May 1876 — Marseilles | |
Thursday. 25th May [1876]. Arrived at Marseilles abt 10. Landed at once & left Giovanni to see to the luggage & went to a cafe, breakfasted & went to the station to leave by 12.30 train for Mentone. We got there abt 9 & went to the Hotel de France a little inn where we were very comfortable. We found the “Victoria” shut up all the large hotels being closed out of the season– | |
