Thursday. 1st June [1876]. Hearing that wild Narcissus were to be found abt here Henry & I went up the hill to the quarries in search of them. We were returning quite dispirited & disappointed when we suddenly came on a field full of them. They were as large as those wh grow in gardens & so sweet. We got some roots to send to Maria. | |
