2 July 1876 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Sunday. 2nd July [1876]. Hill & I bathed– A hot tiring day with scirocco. Visit from Mr Malcolm who goes out of town on Tuesday. Went to call on the Soronnce Morettis & did not find them in. Went into the church of Madonna del Orta which has all been newly done up in very bad taste. Picture by Cima. It rained as we came home. Gonzalvo called. Dr Salviati & Signor Castellani dined with us. In eveng Henry & I went to Piazza to have ices. Met the Edens under the Giardinetto as we came home. Invited them to dinner tomorrow. | |
