28 July 1876 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Friday. 28th [July 1876]. Left Venice by 8.40 train. Malcolm, Salviati & Castellani saw us off. Left Joubert, Cortellazzo & Giovanni at Venice. Breakfasted at Verona & went on to Turin. Very hot journey. Maffei met us at the station & took us to the Hotel “Liguria” comfortable but dear. Maffei dined with us & we took coffee in the garden of hotel. I went early to bed. | |
