10 November 1876 — Madrid | |
Friday. 10th [November 1876]. A wet day & no going out. Mme Bauer’s nursery maid called. I asked her abt her religion– She was very cheeky & upset but said she was decided to do so so I said very little to her. I wrote to Mme Dragonetti to condole on the death of the Dss of Aosta; there is a great feeling here about her. Clarita called on me. Wet eveng. Henry went to Canovas’ reception. I wrote letters. | |
