15 January 1877 — Madrid | |
Monday. 15th [January 1877]. Remained in bed with headache– Emilia came to spend the afternoon & I got on the sofa. Tonight there was a great Ball at Court– Mr Hunt dined with Henry, Clarita came after & Henry took them to the ball– Henry had to dance 2nd quadrille with the Pss. He says there was such a crowd that there was hardly any room to move– He came home abt 1. without his cloak wh cd not be found in the confusion– There were 4500 people invited so it was not astonishing. | |
