3 March 1877 — Madrid | |
Saturday. 3rd [March 1877]. Went at 3 to fetch Emilia & D. Juan & with Henry went to the Academy of History in the Calle de Leon to make notes for the Guide. I saw for the first time the splendid silver disc found at Almendralejo near Cordova with the Empr Theodosius in relief– It is a splendid thing & most interesting—also a curious Hispano Moresque style of wooden carved & painted reliquary. | |
