26 March 1877 — Cadiz | |
Monday. 26th [March 1877]. The King left Cadiz today & stopped at Jerez on his way to Seville. Mr Reade, Hatzfeldt, Henry & I took a drive in the afternoon. We visited the cigar manufactory where we did not see one good looking woman. We drove to the English burying ground out of the town– Took leave of Hatzfeldt as we start tomorrow morng early having given up the idea of going to Seville for this Holy Week, partly on acct of the extravagant prices & also because Henry thinks he must be back at Madrid. | |
