15 June 1877 — Therapia | |
Friday. 15th June [1877]. Had my Turkish lesson, & then went up to the work room with Miss Boyd & began work at the sheets. Dr Dickson came up & gave us his advice. Mrs Arthur Hanson called & Lady Kemble. Miss Boyd went to dine with Lady Kemble. We had a rainy day & I went out in the garden in a waterproof but in the eveng it came on to pour & when we went to dine with Corti I had to be carried in Lady Elliott’s garden chair. I sat between Genl Dickson & Corti. The Dragoman’s wife Mme Vernoni did the honors. The Tuckermans dined there also & the Serkis’ & Ct Zichy. The rain had a little abated when we came home. | |
