17 June 1877 — Therapia
Sunday. 17th [June 1877]. Mr Gribble did the service, Miss Boyd played the harmonium. There was a communion service. Directly after service Henry & I went off in the 3 oared caique to Zarifis to a breakfast given in our honour. It poured with rain. We had to go up to breakfast at the kiosque. I was put into a garden chair & wheeled up thro’ the storm. It would have been a pretty fête only the view was invisible on acct of the rain. There were there the Condouriotis, Corti, & several relations of our host. The feeding was like a dinner & lasted as long. Abt 4 there was a lull & we went away but it rained again as soon as we got into the caique. At dinner, Miss Boyd, Mr Gribble, Lady Kemball, Ash: Pisani, Ken: Sandison, Mr Elliot, the Genl, the Adml, Mr Smijth.
