4 July 1877 — Therapia | |
Wednesday. 4th [July 1877]. Wrote 2 letters for messenger who went by the new Brindisi mail & then went up to workroom & made triangular bandages in the machine. Henry went away at 12 in the mouche to see the Sultan & did not return till abt 5. I sat & worked in the garden. It was very hot. The Genl joined me & he said the defeat of the Russians was confirmed– Mr Wrench & Capt Studley called. Later M. d’Ehrenhoff. After dinner we sat on the balcony & at 9.30 Henry, the Genl, Kennedy & I went in the mouche to the Reuss– Not many people there. | |
