8 November 1877 — Therapia | |
Thursday. 8th [November 1877]. Went off to town in the steam launch directly after breakfast with Henry, Mrs de Winton & the Genl. Went to the Embassy & went over the house with Mr Thompson while Henry went to the Austrian Embassy. He joined me after & Mr Kennedy & Elliot also came. Mr H. Hanson called. We lunched “en piquenique” and then I went over the house again with Henry & settled which rooms were to be got ready for us & then went off to call on Mme Dolez who was not at home. We then picked up the Genl & Mrs de Winton & drove back to Dolmabaghcheh & started off in the launch abt 3.30 taking Mr Elliot with us. Got home abt 5 having called at Candilli on our way to invite Mrs Willie to come with us wh she could not do. Capt. Musgrave dined with us. When we got home it rained. | |
