22 November 1877 — Therapia
Thursday. 22nd November [1877]. Packed & sent everything off to town by the steam tug wh started at 11. Took a walk in the garden with Henry, it was a lovely fine day & we were sorry to leave the country. At 1 the Antelope came up and we embarked. As we were going off I saw a sword fish jump out of the water 3 times. There are many in the Bosphorus but it was the 1st time I had seen one. We lunched on board and got to Dolmabaghcheh at abt 3 where the carriage met us. Drove to the Embassy. Began to unpack & settle down in my boudoir wh is next to my bed room. Dr Dickson & Bice Parnis called. We dined alone. In the eveng Turcan Bey came to call on Henry & I went up & sat in my boudoir. Sir Collingwood did not come to Pera today he is to follow tomorrow. The de Wintons went to the Hotel Royale.
