11 December 1877 — Constantinople | |
Tuesday. 11th [December 1877]. Cut out work. Mrs Willie came & we had a game of lawn tennis. News of the fall of Plevna—Osman P. had tried to cut his way out had failed, been wounded & taken prisoner. I went to the Khan in the afternoon to meet Soeur Madeleine & give her things for the refugees. Took Mrs Willie there & brought Mrs de Winton back. | |
