Wednesday. 12th [December 1877]. Wrote for mail all the morning. At 2 went out alone to call on Pss Reuss being her “day”—but she was not visible so I took a drive & then returned abt 5. Mr Laws, Honischer, Whitaker & Privelegio called & others at 5. Played billiards in eveng. News came that Osman P. was dead having poisoned himself. | |
