30 December 1877 — Constantinople | |
Sunday. 30th [December 1877]. Snowing hard & I could not go to church. In the afternoon I went to sit with Arthur in his room while he smoked and then he told me all his domestic troubles & we were both very much upset. The Embassy dined also Mr Brand of F.O. who came as Messenger last Wednesday. I arranged a little china after dinner– | |
