23 February 1878 — Constantinople | |
Saturday. 23rd [February 1878]. Mrs de W. still very ill & Major very much upset abt it. Mme Parnis & B. came & worked here. After lunch I sat with Mrs de W. At ¼ to 4 I went out with the Genl. We walked to the Sport Club to pay Hobart P. a visit there in his rooms over the Club. He gave us tea. Mr Joselyn joined us. Came home at 5. Worked at my screen & Major de W. helped me. We dined at Zichys a dinner given to the French Ambassador. The Greek Minister sat next me. In the eveng Mr Fitch played. We left early. | |
