Friday. 3rd [May 1878]. The Admiral arrived from Izmit in the “Salamis” to breakfast. The “Flamingo” also came up for orders so that at one moment we had 3 gun boats opposite the Embassy. Unfortunately the weather set in bad. Baker P. came down to dine & sleep. Mr Winslow & Mr Bartlett Senr dined with us. | |
