2 May 1878 — Therapia | |
Thursday. 2nd [May 1878]. The fine weather continuing Henry & I went to Hyssar in the 3 oared caique to call on Ahmed Vefyk P. & found him still in his room & not able to move off his couch– Found Dr Dickson with him who had been to see me in the morning. While paying our visit the French Ambassador also called with 2 of his secretaries & we left him there. We went on to call on P. & Pss Halim P. & found them at home. I went in to the Harem & the Pss was very attractive as she always is. The boys came & spoke English very prettily. The Genl & Mr Smijth dined with us. | |
