28 June 1878 — Therapia | |
Friday. 28th [June 1878]. Sewed all morning. Dr Dickson came to lunch. Visits from M. Dumaine, Mme [illegible word] & Mrs A. Hanson. As soon as we had had tea & they were gone Henry, Mr Ken: & I went out for a ride. It was very hot so we went up on the Mashlak road to get a little air but we soon saw a thunderstorm coming up from the other side of the Bosphorus & turned to go home hastening as much as possible & we thought we had just managed it in time as a few drops of rain fell as we entered the house, but after all the storm passed off & there was not one at all. Mr Kennedy & Ld George dined with us. | |
