30 June 1878 — Therapia | |
Sunday. 30th [June 1878]. Mr Gribble had to go to Mr Masters’ funeral so we had no service here. Just as we were finishing lunch the Odessa mail came in & the M & S. arrived to stay with us. They had had a good & quick passage & had come from Berlin direct night & day. We sat in the Grove in the afternoon talking. Ct Zichy joined us and I took “the M” & him round the garden. The mother & Schreiber, Col. Hills, Ct A. Forester, Genl Dickson, Rassam, Sandison, Mallet, Ken:, Chermside, Cartwright & Lord George dined with us. | |
