11 July 1878 — Therapia | |
Thursday. 11th July [1878]. Bathed. Worked in morng & talked to the M. The Admiral & Mr Winsloe came to stay here. Capt. Stopford & I went in to garden to talk over tomorrow’s arrangements. We had great tennis games but it was so hot that I & Mr Winsloe who played against Adl & Mr Kennedy lost each time. We dined with the Fourniers & met M. DuVal & M. , 2 French travellers. Mama felt rather CD & I had to take her home directly after dinner & then went back to the Fourniers. The Adl, Mr Winsloe, the M & S & Henry & I dined there. | |
