9 August 1878 — Therapia | |
Friday. 9th [August 1878]. Went on with Aimée’s portrait. Savas P. called and stayed an hour till luncheon wh he partook of with us. After luncheon we took our work to the grove. Mr Foster came there to us & later Genl Mehemet Ali P. just returned from the Congress. He brought me a lot of little flags he had taken for me off the cake at the last dinner at Berlin all except the Russian & Turkish wh Schuvaloff had carried off. It was very nice of him to bring them on purpose for me. Zichy, Mme & Mlle Fournier, Rustem Pasha and Mr Mallet dined with us & we had some music in the evening & I sang Spanish songs. | |
