30 August 1878 — Therapia | |
Friday. 30th August [1878]. Very hot day. Mrs Burr & I sketched in the garden till luncheon when Capt. Day of the “Falcon” & Capt. Pollard of the Rupert came & lunched with us. Afterwards we returned to our sketching & Mr Wallace came to us & sat there till Zichy & his 2 sons, one a priest came to call when I had to entertain the sons & sat in the garden talking. The Hornby girls went out in the Salamis boat to go & take tea on the Giants mountain. The Adl & Lady H. rode. Mr Dumerique dined with us. The young ladies returned in the middle of dinner only. I went to Mrs Fawcetts dance. | |
