3 September 1878 — Therapia | |
Tuesday. 3rd [September 1878]. Went to a picnic in the forest of Belgrade given to us by the General. Henry & Mrs Burr & I went in our carriage. The General, the Squire, Mme Bilinsky & Jerry in another. All the young ladies including Miss Bilinsky & the officers of the Salamis & our secretaries rode there. Starting an hour before us. We found the table spread under some chestnut trees near the bend. After luncheon Mrs Burr & I quickly set to work to make a sketch. At 5 we had tea and then started home wh we reached in an hour, having had a delightful day. | |
