16 September 1878 — Therapia | |
Monday. 16th [September 1878]. Face better only got up to luncheon. At luncheon my face got worse again & I had to retire to my room & keep quite quiet. Mr & Mrs Burr went out sketching. The others went out for a long ride. The Hornbys who were to have come sent word they had given it up. Usual dance in the evening. Some queer English Mr & Mrs & Miss de Winton Currie drove all the way from Pera for the occasion. Queer people—going on to winter in Rome. | |
