23 September 1878 — Therapia
Monday. 23rd [September 1878]. The Squire & Mrs Burr went off directly after breakfast to Consple. They are to stop there today & go off to Brusa early tomorrow morning leaving Mellony with us. It was a very hot muggy day. I went to the pine terrace to work at my sketch & Lady Hornby accompanied me. Henry went in the “mouche” to Safvets & called for May Boyd & brought her from Candilli to stay with us. We had a thunderstorm in the afternoon but when it was over some of the party rode & some of us walked in the garden. We had our last dance this eveng. A lot of people came & it was very lively.
