25 September 1878 — Therapia | |
Wednesday. 25th [September 1878]. Lovely weather—hot & S. Wind. Spent morng on terrace painting & 2 elder Miss Hornbys with me. After lunch Hatzfeldt came & Henry took him to see Ahmed Vefyk P. All the young people went out for a paper chase on horseback except Miss Boyd– Lady Hornby also stayed in & we then had tea in my room as I had to lie down feeling rather tired. At 6 Mrs & Miss Parnis came & I coifféd Miss P. for the ball at the French Embassy. In the eveng we went to the ball. Henry & I came home abt 11.30– The others stayed till nearly 3. | |
