18 October 1878 — Therapia | |
Friday. 18th [October 1878]. Wrote for the messenger who starts today. I wrote to Lady Ely to give her an acct of what happened at the Palace 2 days ago for her to show to the Queen. Henry had visitors all the afternoon. I ordered the carriage to take us out for a drive but had to send it back as Mme Caratheodory arrived & so went out with her instead to the tennis ground & then we had tea & were joined by Henry & Caratheodory P. & after by Mr Palgrave & Sir Hy Wolff. There was a great paper chase today—all Therapia went to it. May & Hobart P. went & enjoyed themselves. | |
