19 October 1878 — Therapia | |
Saturday. 19th [October 1878]. Henry had to go off to see Safvet P. before 8 o’cl: & there was a thick fog when he started. However it cleared abt 9. He returned abt 10 o’cl & I sat with him while he breakfasted & then went out & painted in the garden till lunch. Sophie Ballazzi came then to see me & then Henry Hanson who talked over church & other affairs. Musurus P. lunched with us. Hayreddin P. called. After luncheon Henry & I went off in the steam launch taking with us Musurus P. We went to Hyssar & sent on Musurus home. We found Ahmed Vefyk at home. With him were Sir Hy Wolff & Mr Palgrave but they soon left. We took a turn in the garden & then came home. | |
