Saturday. 26th [October 1878]. Had to stay in bed till abt 4. Read Tancred & wrote to Mrs Burr. Aimée d’Ehrenhoff came to see me. Henry & May went to play tennis at the French Embassy. Hobart P. came to stay with us & gave us an acct of his interview of this morng with the Sultan who is very low abt the [illegible word] business. Mr Wallace, Sir Alfred, Mr Leveson Gower dined. | |
