8 December 1878 — Constantinople | |
Sunday. 8th December [1878]. I stayed in bed late. May, Hill & Jerry went to church. The messenger arrived from England & brought me the parcels of small trifles Blanche had chosen & sent me for the Charity Bazaars I have to contribute to & it was very amusing unpacking them. I went down to dinner. Had Major Wilson, Mr Ross of Bladensburg, Mr de Wolski, Mr Harrison, Mr Gatheral, Mr Smijth, Ash: L. Gower, Lord George, Sir Alfred to dinner. | |
