9 December 1878 — Constantinople | |
Monday. 9th [December 1878]. Got up after breakfast. Sorted things for the Bazaar & sent off Bebek things. Mr A. Hanson called. Played harmonium to Mays accompaniment on piano. Mrs Brassey called. We had a dinner party consisting of Mr & Mrs Serkis, Savas P. (Min. of F.A.), Vahan Effi (Min. of Justice), Cirtaki P. (Ex. Govr of Crete), Djimil P. Hassan Frehmi P. (Ex Pres. of the Chambers), Sir Alfred & Mr Baring. There was also a great dinner of Mr Foster’s tonight to wh we had been invited. | |
