13 December 1878 — Constantinople | |
Friday. 13th [December 1878]. Took my first singing lesson from Mme Livadari & began to learn “Plaisir d’amour.” In the afternoon played tennis for a little while but it was cold & wet so I soon came back. Mme Condouriotis called to introduce a lady to me & Mme Doctor called also Mme Fernandez & Mme Marinitch. Mr Smijth, Lord George & Mr Ashburnham dined with us. Billiards in the eveng. | |
