29 December 1878 — Constantinople | |
Sunday. 29th December [1878]. Went to church in the chair. Mr Washington assisted Mr Curtis at the service. A dull day & visit from Mr Rawson– Was starting to walk to evening service when I got to the garden gate found it was raining and I had no umbrella—so I turned back went home & wrote. Zichy & Christich besides Mr Smijth, Mr L. Gower, Mr Baring & Ld George & the Ct Pisani dined with us. A little music in the evening. | |
